The New Chevy Malibu...Is it REALLY New?

Hi...can we talk?...about NEEW Chevy Malibu?? Is the Malibu really new or is it a recreation? As in a recreation of the Australian Holden Monaro. I mean isn't the Malibu just a Holden Monaro with a Jenny Jones makeover to fit in with the US market? Add some makeup and a few upgrades here and there and Vvwaallaa!, an all new car at least as it would seem to most. Back to my question and correct me if I am wrong but isn't the Malibu just a rehabbed rebadged GM Australian car?

No more so than a FWD Lexus is a rebaged Camry, suppose

No, it isn't even close. It is a related to an Opel designed (as is the Saturn Aura). I am surprised you think the Monaro and Malibu are related. The Monaro is rear wheel drive with a longitudinal engine, the Malibu is front wheel drive with a transverse front engine.

Maybe you are thinking of the recently discontinued Pontiac GTO or the new Pontiac G8. Both of these are Australian built rear wheel drive sedans.

It also has the same undepinnings as the pontiac g6.

Well he was close. Its still a rebadged Australian car with a Jenny Jones makeover.
