My dealer is offering to apply a 3M "plastic wrap" to my 997 before delivery.
Is this a good idea? I live in a area where a lot of sand is applied to roads, how long will this stuff last? Will it trap moisture the way a standard auto bra does?

I'd recommend it. I wish I had done so, but it's too late these days for mine (she does have it on her flanks, though). The shield should last quite a while and repairing it is more desirable than to do so to the paint, IMHO.

95 993 CoupeThe only downside is that on certain areas like the hood you can clearly see a line where the wrap is and where it isn't.
