2001 Saab 9 5 se Oil Pump

I jsut got a used 9 5 with 44k miles. When it starts, the oil pump sounds as if it is dry- but fortunately its noise goes away after a qucik interval. Is this typical?

I don't know, but do you have the 4 or 6 cylinder engine?
