It's yummy! I think it bears some resemblance to Aston Martin, but much nicer. Kind of Koenigsegg, too? Anyway, I've made up some wallpapers to remember the car by. Don't drool on your keyboards :)

together with this comment ......

" 8. GM is determined to screw up every brand in their stable as quickly as possible, aren't they?

Saab is the perfect vehicle for them to take the emerging premium small car market- emphasizing fuel economy and European dynamics and safety. Instead they are going to release this horrid Camaro wannabe and further destroy the brand equity.

May GM die a quick death, that is all I can hope for given their continued idiocy."

Can't say I'm any fan of the UScentric 'Gotham City' styling.

Why are GM trying to force US styling on a great European brand ?

If memory serves, there was a 2 seat concept saab back in the 1980's that had a fairly similar rear end.

It looks like an interesting shape and would be quite novel, but I don't see anything anywhere near that sort of car coming out of a GM run Saab anytime in the near (or not so near) future.

Perhaps because they want everything to look like a copy of Chrysler's PT-Cruiser I guess. 8-) That's another disgustingly horrible looking vehicle btw.

I for one think the AeroX is drop dead sexy.

The rear looks somewhat like the Sonett. I had heard they were looking into perhaps a Sonett retro type of car, maybe this is it.

Hey all, I was reading an article in the Boston Globe about how all auto makers have tuned their lines so that they can turn out small lot vehicles (several thousand vs. several million) that are actually marque individual.

Why I am I mentioning this? This flexibility will allow companies to actually do things like this. We may see some version of this car, or concepts from it in future Saabs.

BTW, Has anyone noticed that all cars from all companies are looking like each other? I believe that an increased need for fuel economy and constraints of physics (aerodynamics) will keep any truly unique vehicle from the market.

My opinion.

Not 'arf!

There is a lot of comment about how much it looks like Aston Martin, Maserati, Jaguar and what-not, but this design really is a touch beyond.

I can definitely see the SAAB DNA in there. Sonett III, definitely! Even Sonett II! Okay, yes, many cars of that era looked like that back in the day, but the Aero X really is a 21st Century Sonett. Thank the Lord we didn't see a SAAB badged Vauxhall VX/Opel Speedster. They are nice cars in their own right, but for SAAB to pull aside and re-think the design ...

I'm really buzzing off this design ... I think it's just awesome. I've said it before, but if even 10% of this car ends up in a production model it will be something stunning!

As long as they don't carry over the corvett qualities such as the fender bumps in the hood due to the large wheels.
