The knob on a post N1004566 9000 is a fit and non remove knob, Once its on, its on. It is now sold as an assembly and can be fitted as follows: Lift up gaiter, remove semi circular spring, rotate white plastic collar in opposite direction to that of spring tension and lift out. Remove circlips and fit new bits as required. If you want a rubber gaiter, get the assy with the rubber gaiter, Trying to seperate the assy will only end in snot and tears. For some reason the North American stick is a different spec to the rest of the world, so the above statement may be complete bollocks. Regards Tom.
