Saab radios and aftermarket head units

I am selling a Saab stereo on eBay and a potential buyer posted me with this question:

This was my response to him:

On closer examination of the connectors and the manual, I would have to say > no. The two connectors on the stereo system headunit and the EQ appear > to be inter-dependant on each other. While the headunit can run without > the EQ, it appears the opposite cannot be said. > > I am not sure of this but I will research and get back to you. > > Jeremy

Does any one else know if this was the right answer?

Jeremy
