I'm referring to the rear bumpers on my 93' 9000 CSE. The bumpers are incredibly strong with the shock absorbing concertina sections. Went off the motorway junction as usual. There is a roundabout above the motorway with several traffic lights. The last traffic lights weren't working and there were no warnings. As a car shot in front of me from the left, I naturally put my foot on the brakes. An eager white van driver went into my rear with an almighty bang. No noticeable damage to the Saab, only a slight 'polish' on the rubber strip. His car however, got a wrecked front bumper.
they don't make them like that any more...

Cheers! '93 CSET.
About a year ago, I'm backing out of a parking spot (mind you I'm only doing 2 or 3 MPH)in my '94 9000 CSE, and I hit the front bumper of a big GM pickup truck. I figure that there would be no damage, other than a slight spot of green paint on his bumper and chrome on mine.
