1992 Saturn SL2 seatbelt going crazy

I have 1992 Saturn SL2 and the driver side seat belt it going crazy.

As soon as I close the door it only moves an inch up and down and doesn't stop. The seatbelt lights on the dash keep on flashing and it never goes around you?

Do any of you know what this could be?

Thanks for your help guys!

...I don't want this to come off as rude - I just wanted to mention that when we type in CAPS in newsgroups/email, it's like yelling at the person in a real conversation.

My Mom tends to talk like this on the phone and I hold the receiver about a foot away from my ear - I suspect if she had a computer she might type in caps too! (wink)

could be a couple of things:

1) The passive restraint track itself is finally giving up (about $400-$450 for the part)

2) The module that controls the passive restraints went bad (about $150 for the part), usually caused by the coca-cola syndrom. The module is in the center console so if you spill anything on/in the console it can take out the module.
