1994 SL1 Pulsing at cruise speeds

I have a 1994 SL1, when I'm cruising down the road - foot at one spot on the pedal (say holding 30 mph) the car surges almost like it's getting fuel then not. When I've got the pedal down and accelerating hard, it's no problem.

Have replaced the spark plugs, spark plug leads, fuel filter, PCV Valve.

Could this be a faulty throttle position sensor or am I way off?

Any suggestions?

Thanks Chris

Check EGR for vacuum line leak, EGR diaphragm leak and sticky valve poppet.

I had a similar surging problem in my '92 SL1 that got real bad. It turned out that the body control computer (it's under the emergency brake lever) had a cracked case and soda had spilled on it. Cleaned the circuit board off and the problem was fixed. I'm still not exactly sure why that caused the problem.

Check your EGR valve. It can cause surging at low speed conditions. I don't remember if the '94 has a vacuum EGR or not. If it's vacuum, try driving with the vacuum feed to the valve top disconnected (and plugged at the hose end) to see if the problem goes away.
