engine swap from 1997 SL to 1999 SL2

Anyone know if a 1997 SL base engine with manual trans will bolt into a

1999 SL2 car that has an automatic?

What about changing engine and trans both. I have the 1997 car here so I'd have the clutch and shifting linkages available.
