i'm putting my 1993 sl1(5spd) away for a long winters nap,ok(it sucks in the snow) and to fix a few small things. but what should i do to it so it will start this april?

Keep the battery charged. I put away a vehicle all winter every year and simply keep a battery trickle charger on it for the duration. You can find these in auto stores or catalogs like JC Whitney on line. I also put it away with a full gas tank to minimize water vapor condensation.
