Where do I get warranty

Oct 25, 2003 1 Replies

I have owned my Saturn for a little over two years. The factory warranty has expired.

What are your thoughts on the purchase of a warranty. Any pros and cons, and where do I buy one?

Thanks.

Well - your ability to purchase the one offered by Saturn pretty much ran out with the original warranty (not sure if that also applies to aftermarket companies) - in any event, you have to weigh how long the warranty lasts, it's terms (i.e., deductible, etc.) and how much it costs against what you think you might reasonably run into along the lines of repairs over that time, and how much they would cost. I haven't priced them recently, but in the past second party warranties have been expensive - probably close to a near worst case repair scenario - so unless some expensive things break (transmission, etc.) they weren't worth it.

Basically, the warranty isn't worth it unless the total value of the repairs you anticipate is greater than the cost of the warranty.
