I've decided to try and install it myself based on advice received here. Is there an alternative place to purchase a headliner besides a dealership? I really don't want to pay 500% upcharge. They are asking ~$400 for this cheaply made headliner. I also need a piece for the window armature that will cost $1.50. Its the little plastic roller that rolls in the window arm inside the door. They want to sell me the whole armature assembly with motor for $300+.

Just buy the fabric not the entire headliner like at

or someplace.
You could try local junkyards. I am not sure whether it is practical to remove a glued-on headliner without damaging it. But the window piece should be easy to remove.
There are also some shops which advertise used parts over the web. I've seen their website names here but I don't recall them offhand. Also check out Saturnfans.com for them.
Why not take your old one out and recover it? Very easy to do. Besure you purchase a new material that does not have a foam back. The foam is the problem, not the cardboard back or the glue. And spray-glue is the best way to go. Easy and quick.

There are lots of shops that will recover your existing headliner for
100-150. Many even come to you and do it while you are at work or home.$400? ask around......
