Elevator OT

Some of you asked that I post some photos of my shop elevator well I have them but how do I post them? According to this site I can't because this is a Use net group. For guides I used barn door tracks and trolleys. I welded the hanger bolts to the trolley and then spaced my elevator frame out from the guides with nuts. To raise and lower the elevator I am currently using a one ton chain hoist. I mounted the chainhoist to two inch square tubing that I fastened to my sissors trusses and the gable end wall.

If I get tired of using the chain hoist I will use one of those 1400 pound electric wenches backed uo by the chain hoist for safety. The main reason that I havent done this is that the electric hoist will pull the line in need to trave the distrance in about a minute and it only takes me two minutes my the chain hoist.

This is the nicest news group anywhere on the internet.

We do more for each other and have more polite discourse than anywhere else. Part of the appeal is that we don't care much about the "Official" rules. We kind of follow the golden rule. And we all want to see pictures.

So if your newsreader can't post pictures, or your ISP is an asshole about "following the picture rules on usenet" then email one of us and we will be happy to post them for you.
