Engine Serial Numbers

I have 2 v8 engines. #1 V159836

#2 P66854

Anybody got any Idea what year and what they are from??

Engine #1 I have just completed re-building. It lacks a distributor and carb. I have it mounted in a jig, and will more than likely get running next week.

Engine #2 I expect is out of a early ??. The engine is green with red rocker covers. It is pretty old, as it has the 4 bolt goose neck on the water manifold. Jim I will run a compression check on it. Maybe re-build it for grins, and resale.

Let me understand this. You rebuilt an engine and don't know what it is?

Where are these engines? What are the block numbers on the engines?

I rebuilt the first one last year, and have forgotten what it is.

The other is a recent acquisition.

#1 1952 Commander V8 232 #2 1958 President 289 As per tech data page on SDC website.

Ooooo... And I just happen to have a set of .060 pistons and NOS crank for that 289...

Thanks Mr Grumpy, but right now, my plate is very full. In fact it runneth over. I just retired, and it seems as if my "todo" list is a "todo book".

I retired in 2005 and finally am thinning my "treasure." I'm only retaining spares for what I intend to keep and 289 engines are not in that picture.
