From the Yahoo group:
"My agent just called. He wants a gold Avanti to star in a motion picture to be shot in Southern California soon. I don't have any Avanti.
If somebody in or near Southern California has a gold Avanti (or really any color Avanti--maybe you'd like a new paint job in gold?) contact me and I'll give you my agent's phone number.
Pay would be potentially $300-500 a day, and it is multiple shooting days, so you could make back some decent money to put into that car, if you wanted the job. There is nothing in the script that indicates the car will be harmed, though I always advise owners to stay with their vehicles because there are only a few people on a movie set (by union contract) who can move your cars.
- You!
- The producer.
- The actor--only during shooting--not between takes.
- The prop man.
The prop man may be great, or he may be rough, so I always reposition my own car. For $400+ a day (and all the food you can eat) it is both fun and worth it to stay with the car.
If he can not get a gold one, he'll settle for any other color. He will not force a gold paint job on the owner of the car. However, if you need paint, you could make a deal to go gold for the film, then have it repainted the color you want after the shoot.
