happy shiny car parts

got my new carb today, was a reman 650CFM "Thunder Series" (repopped AVS) bolted it on, fired right up and actually tried to idle. Am happy. (sick of rebuilding old carburetors...) Didn't do any tuning though as I don't have an exhaust on the engine at all at the moment (need to redo JP's "run-in stand" exhaust system for him...)

JP made a good point, if my car turns out to be a lot of fun to drive, I won't know which happy shiny new part to attribute it to though...

(still haven't run out of little brackets and widgets that need to be cleaned and painted prior to assembly yet though...)

I have a breakerless Distributor, Electronic Ignition, aluminim Flywheel, and rebuilt 4-bbl and proper manifold from Thiebaeult on my

64 259 Daytona Convdertible. Starts almost before it turns over, revs, and sounds great. Next is a 3.73 Twin Traction rear, which with the 4-speed is going to be fun.
