OT: Argghh! eBay Motors searches

Anybody else having the problem of saved "Favorite Searches" that no longer work?

Nearly all my old searches for cars & parts, saved either under the old eBay motors or more recently under the "new" eBay Motors now take me to a generic guided search screen on the new eBay Motors to start from scratch, so it appears my old ones are useless and I have to re-establish saved searches I've perfected and used for years. I have nearly a hundred "favorite searches" perfected over time to save me from searching through voluminous listings.

One would think they'd consider things like this when they make changes.

This gives you all the Stude Stuff. Once done loading, save the http icon to your tool bar. Don't bother with the Ebay search

At least for the time being, you can go here.....

and where it says Welcome to the NEW eBay Motors, click on the "Switch back to the original eBay Motors".... It will take you back to the old format (until they dump it completely).

It will keep you in the old one until you close the browser.

Unfortunately that wouldn't help a lot, because when I invoked one of my pre-coded searches from my eBay "favorite searches" list, it automatically took me to the "New eBay Motors" and presented me with a blank generic search screen...

did do as you suggested, and switched to the old eBay Motors yesterday, but the problempersisted whenever I went back to My eBay and invoked one of my "favorite searches". BUT, now I think they must have just made changes from when the problem started 2 days ago (and I reported it) and persisted this morning, because now all the searches I created BEFORE the "NEW eBay Motors" came into existence (by simply coding a search argument in the search field and then saving the result) are working fine (they weren't working at all yesterday; now only the ones I saved while USING the new eBay Motors are sending me to the link you gave above, forcing me to build the search again from scratch.

So it appears to me my problems may have been a glitch introduced by eBay changing something, and now they have changed it back (except that the searches I created under the New eBay Motors, that used to work, still aren't working, but I have far fewer of those).

Actually, after I reported the problem, I got back what appeared to be a nonsensical answer that referenced a problem I hadn't reported, but maybe the problem they cited was a generic problem many people were reporting that had symptoms different from what I was experiencing. Their note didn't make sense to me because all my favorite searches were listed fine, and I hadn't reported any "missing" searches, mine were there, they just weren't working, and still weren't working after I received their reply note.... here's their reply note and my original problem report:

Dear Wayne,

Thank you for reporting that My eBay was showing only 20 of your Favorite Searches or Favorite Sellers. We were able to get this corrected so that you will see up to 100 of your Favorites.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Sincerely, Roy E.

Message: I have a number of old searches that have stopped working; they apparently WILL work on eBay.com if I highlight and copy the search argument off my search page then paste it in the search field, but when I simply click on the search for an automotive item it takes me to a starter search field at eBay motors where I am forced to go through a bunch of screens that end up not doing the search I used to do easily, and I have to further modify the search to even get close to my original search. WTH??? Are you deliberately trying to make things difficult for users?

Well, guess what? Now that page no longer says "welcome to the new eBay Motors", nor does it allow a switch back to the old eBay Motors, nor do my old searches work. So, still AAAARRRGGGHHH!!!

It still works on mine.... If I open one of my old searches, I still ahve the option to switch back.

I founf the new one works ok... If you put Studebaker in parenthesis... "Studebaker" Jeff

Well, I can't explain it, but it seems my old searches work fine for parts, but not if the search is for cars rather than parts... it just takes me to

is a starter page for searches where you have to step through the "Cars & Trucks Finder"sequence of steps. There is no link on the screen for switching to another version of eBay Motors.
