Phantom Auto Sold

FROM FRANK AMBROGIO

just got a note from Rene Harger. He said he has sold the business to some folks in Salem Ohio. They are setting up a web site, and will have email access.

Rene is now dealing in the front end disc brake setup and his company is called Slick Street Stuff. You can find him on Studebaker Vendors.

Hope to see many of you in Omaha (hope I can make it)

Frank (wow! I visited this site two days in a row, a new record)

I am happy for Rene~... He has been trying to sell the 'stock' interior part of his business off for a few years... Jeff

I'm happy for Rene too - I just wish he'd answer a question. Just what steering column is right for this? I bought a Flaming River 28" tilt column, sure has an extreme angle to the R&P - and just what springs work with it? I can categorically state it ain't the stock V* springs. I managed to squeeze a stock 6cyl spring in, and the damn spindle was locked down solid. Ended up cutting 2" off the 6cyl springs and they just might work. $2150 for a kit ought to include some sort of directions - if he's made the damn thing work, share the info instead of answering a question with "if you need directions you have no business trying to install this."

Is this the same Rene that sells Studebaker Interiors?

Hey Pat...don't wimp out...stand up and say what you're feeling! Though...I do agree, for that much money and that much stuff...a complete set of step by step instructions should have been included.

Yep. Maybe customer service will improve now... at least for interior customers.

I have heard stories that would curl my hair... if I had any.

Perhaps I will now get my interior door panels for my 64 Daytona that I paid for over 18 months ago. Then the replacement back passenger seat for the same car will get here.
