Rechrome cost?

Question

anyone give me a guesstimate on rechrome cost for a small part like this? I have one that is pitted and this one seems shinier, but it's already bid to over 50 bucks and hasn't hit the reserve. I can get a replacement glass yet, so I'm weighing the rechrome compared to bidding again in the assembly.I'll call around town here, but I'm curious about your experience. Thanks.JoeH.

Well, heres my guessitimate, to rechrome $200. You'll have to remove themirrors before you can rechrome. And noboby is going to touch it for $50.That wouldn't even be considered a hours wages in shop time.When you are rechroming, you have to strip the old chrome off, clean it.Putback a good coat of copper for the chrome to hold on to.I'm no expert but theres alot of steps to this.Plus, who ever you send it too,make sure you get it back.I've heard so many stories of people losing their bumpers or whatnot.Just set your Ebay snipe program to buy at the chosen hour.If you wantit,buy it, that way you won't be sorry.Malcom>
