Saginaw Power Steering - Hoses

Who has the pressure and return hoses for the Saginaw power steering? Is somebody making them?

I don't know for sure about Saginaw, but I just ordered a full set for the later system from Jon Myer. I'd be pretty sure he has the Saginaw ones too. Everything like that he sells is new production, but perfect fit. Paul Johnson

Hi Paul -

Jon Meyer was the first place I went for the bits I need for the Saginaw setup. His response? "I don't have thing for those Saginaw power steering units". First time I've ever stumped Jon.

N8N says nobody's making them. With the interest in Speedsters, it seems like there would be enough demand for them. I'm adding PS to a

55 Commander coupe.

I have a set of newly fabricated hoses for the Saginaw system that I may get around to installing in the '55 Prez sedan. I pulled the power steering out of the car because I could not get a steering column boot which I now understand is available from SI.

I purposely left the return line extra long as my plan is to utilize a GM oil cooler in the circuit.

Now that IS surprising! I'd of thought there were enough Saginaw units out there that everyone would have them. If you have a set of old hoses you can probably find a shop that can make them using your old fittings. I had a local shop make me two new hoses for a Powershift )one ones running into the radiator). I recently ordered the high pressure hose from SASCO. I don't think they had the low pressure hose, but I think it could be made up by anyone that makes hydraulic hoses.

ISTR Dave Thibeault having one of the hoses NOS at SB but when I asked he said that he did not have the other one.
