I have an 04 Forester XT that I'm generally very happy with. I got it used with 16k Miles on it and it's now at about 21k. Right from the start I noticed something with the MT that I've recently been able to narrow down a little. When I've been driving on the highway for a while (maybe an hour or two) both second and fourth gear are difficult to shift into. It just doesn't want to settle into those gears all the way and I don't want to force it. I've even had it pop back into neutral from fourth on it own when it's doing this. Just stopping for a moment with the car running seems to make it go away. It never happens when the car is cold and I don't see it when just driving around town. Initially, I thought it was an issue with cruise control in fourth gear. It would drop out of cruise all on it's own in fourth gear, but now I think it was just now sitting all the way in gear. My dealer is an hour and a half away and I'm afraid I go there and give them the car, it won't do it. So I thought I'd see if anyone here has any information or ideas about this to help me dianose or even fix it my self. Anyone?
Thanks!
Matt
