I replaced the factory double DIN reciever/CD player with a single DIN receiver in my impreza. Now there is a gap below the receiver.

I guess depending on color. I THINK there are aftermarket ones too -maybe even with cool featires for conneting/charging ipods, phones etc.

Go to a local retail store that does custom car audio installations. That's where I found the filler plate since they had done this several times before, knew where to get them, and had spares on hand. I think the cost was $20 (a bit expensive for a piece of plastic but worth not me having to hunt around for it). If they couldn't find it, they offered to cut me one which would look professional looking.
