I'm looking for feedback from other XT (Outback or legacy) drivers. My Outback XT has 27K miles on it. The original tires are just about done. Because I use snow tires, these tires probably only have 23K on them. Nice, even tread wear and inflation has been well maintained. Warranty is useless since it would be pro-rated, if any, and only good for another set of tires that wont last.
What brand are they? I had very poor mileage from my Yokohama Geolanders on my 05 OB. They are ready for change now and have just reached 30K klm.
I found the original all season tires on my Subaru (Geolanders) to be an excellent all-around tire but short lived. I've found this is typical of most all-season tires that offer very good performance. I switched to Michelin Xones and doubled the life but at 2.5X the price. I now have Kumho HP4-716 which appear to be a great value and perform excellent in the rain & heat here in Florida. Go to
, I'm at 61,000 miles on the original Geolander 900s (2003 Forester XS) and expect to get at least 5000 more before I replace them. I like these tires and will probably buy them again. Handling is fine in any sane driving situation and I've never had any issues with them. Rotated faithfully every 8K and kept pressure at 32psi. - that's all it takes. Just my 2 cents....
wow 60,000+ miles on original Geolanders. I think I got about 26,000 on mine and I drive easy, rotate @~7K and keep air at 32/30 on my Forester. I do drive on "shell" roads here in SW Florida. Shell roads meaning the road fill is from sea shells by the sea shore. That stuff is very hard on tires.
