Mirror Replacement (USA Forester XT 2005)

I have the old style auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass. I want to replace it with the new style mirror that has the "HomeLink" function in addition to the compass & autodim.



I have heard that there is some sort of adapter needed. Is this true?



How difficult is the process to remove the old mirror & install the new one.



WHY? I'd rather have the two little compartments in the overhead console for my sunglasses instead of the bulky garage door opener remote.

Ask your dealer. This isn't really common knowledge among the group.

it would probably be more helpful if you would share this information, if you know how to make the swap. big surprise, the dealer wants to charge $$$$$$$ and do it themselves
