MY02 Impreza (WRX) Driver's Window Adjustment for Squeak?

Feb 19, 2005 3 Replies

I have lost where I might have read online somewhere about an adjustment to the squeaky noise made when raising and lowering the (in this case) Driver's Side Window, car is an 02 Impreza WRX.

Thx in advance, TBerk

Naw, Armour All will leach the soft plasticizes in rubber and vinyl to the surface over time. Not recommended because it contains SILICON. Better off using something like Klasse instead.

Still, while I appreciate your contribution, I remember reading about a procedure to adjust the window.

You'd have to adjust the door or the window glass to interface differently with the rubber weatherstripping seals. I'll wager that increasing the interference between them makes it squeak more, and that reducing it leads to wind noise at speed, but I could be wrong.

Given that it didn't squeak when the car was new, and it does now, obviously something has changed. If the change has to do with the physical alignment of the window, then you're on the right track.
