Re: Outback Mileage with Goodyear TripleTred

I replaced the geolandars at 17k with Tripletreads. I record every cost re: vehicles and know precisely what my mileage has or hasn't done. I can tell you that the mileage has actually increased by exactly the same amount as the circumference of the tire decreased in terms of percentage. The actual diameter (distance traveled per revolution) is slightly different for the same nominal size. So in effect I have had no change in fuel mileage. Put a larger diameter tire on and you may believe you are getting improved gas mileage and getting everywhere faster than you used to. Tirerack.com has all of the specs you need to make your decision. Re: TripleTreads - fantastic tire (I've driven over 12,000km now).

My 2003 Outback Wagon will be needing new tires sometime this summer.
