The Mazda Miata (aka MX5) is a two-seater roadster ... it's a completely different class and doesn't "compete" with the Scion FRS / Subaru BRZ / Toyota 86 on any level.
This is the same silliness that Nissan didn't understand when they were rumoured a couple of years ago to be re-intropducing the 200sx / 240sx as a silly two-seater roadster to compete against the Mazda as well. :-(
