Subaru Question ( Mechanic Help pls!!)

Hi,

I have a friend who worked on a Subaru Legacy for a high end company. He replaced the Axel on Nov.21, 2003. Today that owner of the car filed suit against the company because the Transmissin blew and she claims it is because of the axel. Is there anything to look for to prove otherwise? Or what can we do to show it was something else or just this woman's driving?? Any help from anyone is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Angela

You must live in sue happy California. Anyway, how many miles was the car driven since the axle replacement? Is the "high end company" a auto repair facility? What failed in the transmission?

I love this kind of question.

Three things come to mind. Firstly, if a "high-end" company was involved, surely they would have insurance and the insurance company lawyers would be handling this stuff.

Secondly, If a mechanic were to post useful information, what's to say he wouldn't be subpoenaed to testify in court about it. I doubt that any judge would accept a usenet post as evidence.

Thirdly, we know nothing about the car, the mechanic, and the circumstances. Perhaps the axle or the mechanic's incompetence did destroy the transmission. We just don't know.

Best to leave this one alone.
