Hmmm ... Toyota takes the best sports car in years and ruins it with a stupid hybrid system. Subaru takes the same best sports car in years and improves it with a turbo. I wonder once one will sell better? ;-)

Putting a hybrid or diesel engine, or an automatic gearbox, in a "sports car" is plain silly - it's an oxy-moron, like Military Intelligence. It's really only done to appease someone (the "greenies" get "cleaner" / "eco-friendly" engines and those too lazy to change gear themselves get automatics).

And I don't think toyoda will be silly enough to cut one tit from the milk producing cow. FHI on the other hand might want a turbo crutch to avoid fixing the supenders-in-need-of-tune

"hey! it understeers like crap but at least we give you more power now!"

My feeling is that the Toyota version will sell better. It's actually more of a KERS system than a full hybrid. Turbos and superchargers are not for these days, unless they too are mated to a hybrid as well.

a hybrid with a turbo

me thinks that's about like riding with a foot on gas and brakes at the same time
