86 SkyHawk Coolant Sensor

can someone tell me where this is to replace? the fan will not come on when car warms up...so it overheats.



at the radiator cap, there are 2 different parts that have wires to them...seems like they screw out to replace...what are these?



I replaced the t'stat at the radiator cap.

They are probably your coolant temperature sensors. One of which seems to be bad, although the problem might be the fan itself. Test the fan by running a couple of wires from the connector for the fan to the battery. If the fan turns then it is alright. Then trace the wires from the fan back to one of the sensors. That will be the one you need to replace.

It would help to know what motor you've got, the V6 or the L4.
