92 civic o2 sensor blues

I was removing the o2 sensor on a 92 civic ex, 1.6L V-TEC, and it broke in half! The sensor broke free and was turning, but then it got tight and broke. The threads broke inside the manifold. The center portion of the sensor is gone so there is a hole where the sensor use to be and, of course, exhaust gasses escape through this opening.

Any suggestions on what to do now (besides having a stiff drink)?

Thank you for your help. Dan

Have a drink and then get a propane torch... a can of penetrating oil... and a large "easy out"(available from an auto store). Spray what's left of the sensor and then heat with the torch. Repeat this procedure several times to break the rust/corrosion bond. Be patient. After heat cycling perhaps 10 times... then try the easy-out in the hole. Next time you attempt this... you should use heat/oil cycling several times before the removal attempt.

Thank you for the reply. I've been hitting it with penetrating oil each day since, and I will try to remove it within the next couple days. I'll have to pick up an easy out first.

Thanks again Dan
