Hoping someone can shed some light on this problem....My son has a 94 plymouth acclaim that starts fine and runs fine and then all of a sudden dies....gas pedal goes limp, guages lite, car stops running....sometimes he can restart it and other times it has to sit for a while. Our mechanic cannot seem to find out what is causing this.....HELP please.....thanks Barty

If I am understanding you correctly, it sounds like what I've seen failing ignition modules do...

is this a 4 cyl motor?2.5?i just love the simplicity of the distributor on these older chryslers.and have had a few distributor pickup units go bad in an intermittant way.sometimes i could wiggle the wires and get it to go.otherwise sitting for a while did it.cheap first try at a fix.go for it.

Except that there is no "ignition module" on a 1994 Acclaim, with any engine.
