Chevy Lumina APV Stalls Except When Air Conditioner Is Running

Hello,

I have a 95 Chevy Lumina APV/Van with an automatic transmission. The van runs very well overall, but has a tendency to stall after idling for 30+ seconds (sitting at a stop light, etc.). This occurs regardless of the outdoor temperature or how long the van has been running. It does not stall when the accelerator is being depressed. What I am hoping will assist in the troubleshooting of the issue is that it does not stall when the air conditioner is running. It will idle indefinitely with no problems when the air is on. The plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, fuel filter, and air filter have all been replaced.

Any thoughts or insight into this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, AL

Hi, Your normal idle rpm is too low. When a/c is engaged idle rpm increases to cpmpensate the increased load on the engine(a/c compressor) Tony
