Tachometer Installation in 99' Protege

Oct 28, 2006 2 Replies

I've been installing a tachometer in my protege for about a week now. All the wires are hooked up to the car except the important one, the one that reads the rpm from the engine. I'm nut exactly sure where to find it, and i've tried about 3 different wires so far. The wire i'm on now is giving me a weak reading, so i'm pretty sure it's the wrong one. Any advice would be appreciated.

Head over to this site:

They list the easiest places to grab inputs for alarm installation in various cars; since remote starts need a tach sensor input to know when the vehicle is started, they should list a convenient place to grab tach signal in your Protege.

Good luck.
