If one has a truck rated for at least 5000 lbs trailer would there be a performance difference in towing between
- A hitch rated 3500 lbs regular but rated 5000 with a weight distributor added.
- a hitch rated 5000 lbs without a weight distributor added.
I guessing that 1. might handle better. It's certainly a more expensive option.
