Meguiar's "Deep Crystal System" is a consumer-grade product, available at many retail auto outlets.

It consists of: Step 1) Paint Cleaner Step 2) Polish Step 3) Carnauba Wax

I would assume from your comments that you have never tried it. The general enjoinder to test it first is good no matter what you are using.

BUT, kerosene is not at all an aggressive solvent. It is more like a light oil. It will clean tar and sap off pretty well, and is generally harmless. It usually leaves the car shining as if it had been waxed.

Some cars with old oxidized paint cant be brought back to life by anything but compounding with mild abrasive rubs, or maybe even repainting. You cant raise the dead.

Dont screw around with some other solvent. Some solvents are powerful paint thinners and solvents, and if you use them, you WILL damage the paint.

And you dont use a rag dipped in kerosene. You stir the kerosene into water and rag wash the car with that.

You don't know anything of the kind and kerosene *doesn't* disolve anything *but* oil based paint period.

*If* you *have* a point for the OP reply to him. I have no interest in it.
