what to do with 1973 Rochester carb manual

I have this old Rochester carb manual which may be of interest to classic car enthusiasts. I'm not looking for money but for the best way to make the information as widley available for free as possible. I've thought of giving it to a local car club but that's pretty limited availability. Something like this newsgroup or a website would be ideal because everybody would have free access. OTOH maybe there isn't mush interest in the information any more.

The book was published by H.P. Books who probably still has a copyright but I imagine it is long out of print. Its says its an independent publication which has nothing to do with Rochester or Delco divisions of GM. (The authours were Doug Roe and Bill Fisher.)

Any suggestions on the best way to make the information available would be appreciated.

Thanks but I don't think that's going do it.

Well, *OKAY*, then. Write to HPbooks. In your letter, you should cite the title and ISBN of the book they published that you have, and state that you "want to make the information as widely available for free as possible". Ask for permission to reproduce the entire book and put it on a free website.

If you get Usenet access in jail, let us know how it works out.

Just sell the book, they still publish it to my knowledge. I have what is probably the same book "Rochester Carburators" that I bought in the late 1990s (new from a book store) to aid the rebuilding of the carb on an '82 olds. It's not like it's rare or something....

that's a possiblity but it sounds like a pretty big project to take on. I wasn't able to find a website for H P Books. In 1973 they were in Tucon, AZ.

Canada does not allow inmates access to the Internet. I guess they fix their cars on their own.

For what it's worth, my old man worked at Rochester Products as did my mother and my grandmother. Took a tour once in '83 of the plant....quite impressive.

Didn't HP books put out other books like one for Holley carbs and such? Sounds familiar for some reason.
