why does Advance A/P no longer sell steel brake-fluid lines?

Must be a local thing. The local stores all have racks of them. They also have 25' coils.

That's just another reason to stay away from them.

The 25' stuff is a lot easier to bend if you have to replace all of the lines, and it's cheaper than buying 4-5 lines with fittings.

yabbut, you inevitably end up in the middle of a job and busting the little tit off your 3/16" double flare adapter and end up buying a whole new flaring tool set because no local store sells just the little bag of adapters... BTDT!

Nate, Nate, Nate... You must learn about TOOL RENTAL.... Of course the unethical person would likely return the tool and mention that it had a defective 3/16" adapter....
