The Chinese company BYD has introduced the world's fastest charging and battery, the Blade Battery 2.0. This year, they plan to open 20,000 such charging stations in China.
BYD is associated with Toyota through an EV partnership, not because BYD is owned by Toyota or is a Toyota sub-brand.
They created a 50-50 joint venture in China called BYD TOYOTA EV TECHNOLOGY Co., Ltd. (BTET) to do R&D on battery electric vehicles and related components.
That partnership fed directly into at least some Toyota EVs for China. For example, Toyota says the bZ3 was jointly developed by BTET, with FAW Toyota producing and selling it in China.
