Battery Charging - Fiesta 1.4 Zetec

Jul 05, 2008 1 Replies

Hi all

My parents recently returned from holiday (only 2 weeks) to discover the Fiesta battery totally flat and unable to turn the engine over. They don't believe that any electrickery gizmos or lights were left on. What is likely to cause this? The car is only 2 years old although it is predominantly used for short journeys.

Can the battery be charged whilst in situ and connected? If it has to be removed, what services will be affected? Will the radio lose its authorisation key? Any other gotchas?

Thanks in anticipation

Phil

as long as the battery has not gone too flat then the coded stuff should be ok. charge it up on the vehicle, still connected. as to why it is flat............?

At two years old it will be under guarantee, so the dealer should be first place to go.
