Horrible Toyota Reliability!

not TOO uncommon in their truck line... as in tractor trailer :)

... and according to today's newspaper they outsell them in the USA now too. Tomes

Not much pal. Made the move from Toyota tech to F-16 weapons system specialist. Mechanical systems are mechanical systems, just arranged differently in this case. At least I don't get any squeaks and rattles complaints from pilots... Still have your Supra?

Oh, yeah. I'm going to try to get at least 5 years out of it, or at least until Toyota gets off their duffs and makes another one!

F-16, eh? Weapons systems?! Oh Boy!!! Now, I don't know much about the weapons systems, but ask the Airframe guys (and the pilots) what they think about the DEEC. I used to work at Hamilton Standard, and was hired just about the time the EECs were being replaced with the DEECs. I went to an airshow in 1991, and a pilot SHOOK MY HAND in appreciation for the work we had done making the plane fly so much better. Then he said, "Stick around...I'm going up in about an hour, and I'll show you what a difference it makes."

Well, he took off, did a few 'normal things', and then came for a run at the runway. He was probably about 50 feet or so above the runway, I can't even guess how fast, and when he got the the end of the runway he did a 90 degree 'turn'...STRAIGHT UP! All the way to 20,000 feet in a matter of seconds. Wow!

Cool. So how do you like the Military life?

Hey, wouldn't be the 144th from CA, would it? They're on Mail Call right now refueling from a KC-135.

Nope, 46th testing squadron at Eglin, FL. Military life isn't bad at all. Whenever I think I'm getting sick of it I see stuff like a 15 coming over the flight line 1000 feet up at supercruise, and it gets real cool again. I do miss getting under a hood though. It's like a rat inside me that won't shut up. But I guess when you stop doing the only thing you've really known that'll happen. I think I'll get a part time spot at the auto hobby shop here on weekends, see if I can't flex the ol' ASE muscles a little.

We thank you for your service!

My Air Force son just got back from a round the world trip. He was on Diego Garcia for a bit. That is NOT a prime assignment...LOL

You might get a kick out of this Internet site.

Oh, I thought you were in CA. FL, eh? Been to see Scott yet?

Considering making it your career?

It was excellent hearing from you! Keep in touch when you can.

So those stories, about Gannet Egg Omelette and Great Auk Biryani being to die for, are not entirely to be trusted?

LOL....

Maybe not.

He is headed home for a couple of weeks, I'm sure dad will find out.
