Not a bad battery for almost 7 years old

The Mazda needed a battery. I had put a new Toyota True Start battery in my Corolla GTS back in 1999, but took the car off the road early in 2001. It has been driven a couple times since then, maybe 3-4 times each summer, up until last summer. Last summer I charged the battery and started the car, but the bearings in the alternator were seized, so it didn't run very long. This summer I didn't do much with it, between having a steady job and putting my efforts into the Supra.

So, just for laughs, I grabbed the battery out of the Corolla and put it into the Mazda. Now, I have 4 batteries sitting here, but they all had the wrong posts, and the wiring wasn't long enough to reach. If it works, I've saved $60, if it doesn't, I'm no worse off than before.

I charged the battery for 12 hours. That was last Tuesday. The car has been running fine since. When the engine is cold it cranks for about 10 seconds or so, when it's warm you don't even hear it crank!

What was I saying about those Green batteries a few months ago?
