Macy's bought out all the Marshall Field's, Famous Barr's, etc, and changed their name all to Macy's here.
In Illinois they're getting a LOT of sales resistance. Same store sales are DOWN a LOT over the same location last year. They are trying hard to get people to shop there. Several campaigns have been launched, most of which I'm sitting here chuckling at:
"The Magic of Macys" (You mean the magic that cut sales 20% over last year?)
"Best Customer Sale" (The one that kept shopping there when you changed the name?)
etc.
