2.5 inches. Why we got that much on one weekend here. Then the weather turned warm and melted it all.

This is a weird winter. Usually in January Chicago is buried in snow, and I wish I had an extra pair of long underwear . . . . If it gets any warmer, I'm going to have to go to work in my swimsuit . . . .

You NEED a snowblower for a lousy 2.5 inches of snow? Get a LIFE!!!!

Up here in Edmonton, Canada, at 54 degrees north Latitude and FAR from any large body of water, it hit over 11 celsius today (about 52 F). Absolutely NO snow on the ground since before Christmas

You have a snowblower? Is it the opposite of a snowman?

I heard your area got several feet Hach... Good time to have the snow blower working.

I had an 8 hp also when I lived in the snowy country. Swore when I sold it I'd never live where I had to have one again.

I lived in Mt Shasta, Ca then and we'd often get a couple of feet sometimes two or three times with only a day or two between. But usually was not much below 32 during days so not too bad.

Live 60 miles south of there now. Forecast for 78 today, and 48 high Friday with 20's for low by then. Crazy

Depends. I got 2.5". A friend of mine 20 miles from me is still digging out of his 2 FEET! There was a clear line; the further south, the more you got, the further north, the less you got. I live near the VT line...

I'll take the 78!!!

No, but it's something every snowman is looking for!!! :)

BTW, you ever think of how many Snowmen they have to make at Hostess for production for an entire year?

I have over 1/4 mile of driveways.

Yeah, we had snow Christmas day, something I don't remember since I was a kid.

We have had a couple of 4-5" storms since then, but January was so warm it all went away.

Wow! How high up in altitude are you?

I'd let it just pack down. Pointless trying to keep all that area cleaned down to the ground/pavement whatever.

Mind you, was that 2.5 inches HEAVY and WET? If so, I can see you firing it up. But, for light and fluffy, even with mega area, I use a 36 inch heavy plastic scraper. We do have a Toro 724 for really big dumps.

About 2200 feet. Mind you, on average, most of our 18 inch (Metric equivalent) in precipitation falls as rain in June, July and August. Still, in an average year, the city spends about $20 MILLION on snow removal. We have a 150 to 200 foot deep river valley carved through the middle of the city and unless all those roads are kept perfectly scraped and sanded ( we use hardly no salt here), there is rush hour chaos as the idiots never remember how to winter drive after our 2 months of summer.

Whatever happened to the Alberta Clipper that we got socked with in Jan of

79? -20 F (I'm not exactly sure what that translates to in metric, should be near -30 C. I'm going to have to break out my string bikini if this keeps up.

And what's worse is it was 35 (+2 C) in Florida this morning. . . . .

And it was almost as warm here in Chicago, -20 F at 6 AM.

Well, I'm about 60 lbs over, and I smoke. I have had sit-down jobs for most of the last 6 years. I'm not ready to get out the shovel.

Beside, I just *HAD* to see how the thing worked!

And, I do keep it down to clear pavement, because about half of it is on a hill. I also have a Toro Electric that I usually use for the light stuff, but can you imagine 1/4 mile of extension cord?! I can!
