Re: Consumer Reports: Asian Cars Better

I'm a former automotive tech and after owning a few fords, a chryslter lebaron , a ponitiac grand prix and a chevy blazer, I can say that I'm estatic that Detroit has turned into one big slum (Karma?).

I've burned out only one tail light in 134k miles on my 01 camry. THAT'S IT... The rest has been scheduled maint..I even drained the differential when doing a trans fluid replacement and forgot to refill the differential for about 500 miles. That was about 50k miles ago and nothing ..! Heck my clocks would die on my GMs at 60k. And from there it was down hill. way down hill.

I'm not. The people who used to work for the big 3 were by and large those who were not responsible for the troubles of the big 3. There are a lot of kids growing up in less than ideal conditions for no fault of their own.

My Ford Contour is still going strong at over 150k mi.

My dad had a '70 C10 that went over 100k mi with mostly short trips. By short, I mean trips to the warehouse 2 1/2 blocks away.

And a '85 or so S10 is still going, too.

What CR acctualy says is every vehicle one buy today is likely be a grea vehicle. Their survays proove that they all make some that fall within the

2% failure rate for all manufcutred products, no matter what name is on the grill. Why people will spendmore mony to buy a particual brann hoing the will get one of th 98%, is a bit foolish

Is this what happens when someone tries to type while hung over?

That'd be one explanation. I tend to attribute it to laziness and being inconsiderate.

As anyone who's familiar with Mike knows, he's never hung over because he never stops drinking.
