I have a Toyota Avensis. =A0The battery ran flat and I needed roadside

Disconnect the positive lead from your battery.

Set your meter on DC AMPS; you must have enough capacity on your meter to measure the current which may be present. This current may be higher than 1 amp (12 watts or so) so use a good meter.

With the leads hooked pos. to pos. and neg. to neg. read the current flow and note which fuse turns off the current flow. (Avoid shorting the leads to ground).

Repair the short in the effected circuit.
