1997 4 cylinder Camry Gas mileage/gauge question

I have a 1997 camry four cylinder standard model 155,000 miles. Recently the gas gauge has been a little weird. I put in 4 gallons and the tank goes up to half way from a low level and over the span of maybe 15 miles it halves. I can drive 5 miles and watch it fall. It seems that I'm burning fuel really fast or my gauge is not functioning right.

Is there a way to reset or recalibrate the gauge myself or things to check to get my gas mileage up? I just had the 02 sensor on the manifold replace...(they had to rethread it and everything).

Also how many gallons does my tank hold. I've never been able to fill it up with more than 13 gallons even when near empty.

Any help would be great

THANKS!

== Sounds like you need to replace the sending unit. It's inside the tank. Lift the rear seat cushion the unbolt the access cover to replace. Tank capacity should be 18.5 (US gallons)- but I'm not sure you can actually drive down to the last drop.
