Hello All, I have Check Engine Sign in my 99 Camery. Mechanic told me I need to change EGR Valve and Gasket. I went to Struss auto repair. It will cost me more $300.00 I paid alreay 80 for diagnostic. My questions is, do I really need to change it? Beside EGR Valve and Gasket, what shoud I change to fix the problem? Should I go to Toyota Dealer for it or I can go to Struss to fix it. Your advice will highly appreciated. Thank you. Regards, Rafi

If the EGR is faulty then the symtoms are usually poor idling. Do you have this? You can take the car to most auto parts stores (Checker or Autozone) and they will do a diagnostic check for FREE - see what fault codes come up. There are many reasons possible for "check engine"
