Land Cruisers

I have decided to sell my new Tacoma and buy an older Land Cruiser, mainly to eliminate some debts. I was wondering if there were any strong opinions for or against any land cruisers from the FJ60, FJ62, and FJ80 (Lexus LX450) series. Since most of these cruisers will have at least 100k miles, which one(s) would be most likely to make it to 250-300k? Any really good years? Any really bad years?

Thanks,

Brian

With cruisers, it is truly a case of "buy the newest year you can afford". The

80 series is a hell of a machine. I would pick a 93-later (up to 97) because of the increased horsepower and fuel mileage of the 4.5L over the previous 4.0. These are currently selling for 14-20K, depending on mileage and condition. If you're gonna use it at all for off road-use, look into the diff lock option. My personal favorite is the 97 Collector's Edition in Desert Dune. The 60 and 62 series do not appeal to me too much, but if you throw a 55 at me, that's a different story!
